The lifestyle, culture and traditions are very different from ours. Travelling it is impossible not to depict the American dream in an airy watercolour.

A typical farmstead in northern Germany (Province of Schleswig-Holstein). While on a business trip, I saw this courtyard while driving by in my car. It was impossible not to stop. It appealed to me very much and I decided to paint it on paper with watercolours.

Window to Venice City landscape

Window to Venice

Venice left a lasting impression on me, especially its unique architecture. For a long time, I couldn’t decide what kind of canvas to use to capture my delight. I don’t have the space for a large canvas, and a small one couldn’t contain my feelings. So I decided to paint a mural on the wall of my room. Besides, it was an opportunity for me to paint a large-scale work and to experiment with a new technique—painting on putty. The result was a painting that looked like a real, enormous window; stepping through it, you could find yourself on one of Venice’s narrow streets. And the title came naturally: “Window to Venice”—a window from which I have a wonderful view of that beautiful city right from my room. In this artwork, I used acrylic paints and textured paste.

Misty serpentine in thick clouds. The clouds cling to the tops of the mountains. The air is filled with moisture, greenery and barely penetrating rays of sunshine. Fantastic colours, majestic breathtaking views… An inexhaustible source of inspiration for artists, poets, musicians, photographers. With every turn of the road or trail, a new view opens up, even more beautiful and majestic than the previous one. The mountains of Transylvania impressed me the most on the trip through Romania. I captured my excitement in this painting

The coastal colors of the Kyiv Sea

I never cease to delight with nature: its variety of forms and richness of colours.
In this painting I captured my impression of my holiday on the shore of the Kiev Sea.
One of the favourite activities of artists is to depict the view of water from the shore. And I depicted the back side of this postcard. This time I was very impressed by the view from the water to the shore. While you are standing on the shore of the Kiev Sea, you see the water of yellow, brown, blue shades with golden and silver highlights. But if you go into the water, turn your back to the sun and look at the shore, the water, mixing with the reflection of the sky, shore, plants, gets completely different colours: sharp, contrasting, inconceivable transitions of bright yellow, dark blue, green colours with a touch of red and orange. And it becomes unclear whether you are standing in the water or on the shore, among grass, sand and clay. I painted my admiration for this riot of colours on canvas.
