These words from Vladimir Vysotsky’s song begin to be realised when you get to the mountains yourself. Fantastic colours, majestic breathtaking views… An inexhaustible source of inspiration for artists, poets, musicians, photographers. With every turn of the road or trail, a new view opens up, even more beautiful and majestic than the previous one. The mountains of Transylvania impressed me the most on the trip through Romania. I have captured my delight in this picture.

I never cease to marvel nature: its variety of forms and richness of colours. In this painting I captured my impression of my holiday on the shore of the Kiev Sea.

One of the favourite activities of artists is to depict the view of water from the shore. And I depicted the back side of this postcard. This time I was very impressed by the view from the water to the shore. While you are standing on the shore of the Kiev Sea, you see the water of yellow, brown, blue shades with golden and silver highlights. But if you go into the water, turn your back to the sun and look at the shore, the water, mixing with the reflection of the sky, shore, plants, gets completely different colours: sharp, contrasting, inconceivable transitions of bright yellow, dark blue, green colours with a touch of red and orange. And it becomes unclear whether you are standing in the water or on the shore, among grass, sand and clay. I painted my admiration for this riot of colours on canvas.

By chance I saw a picture of a very beautiful landscape in my social media feed. I don’t know what kind of terrain it is and where it is located. I liked this landscape so much and made such a vivid impression on me that I decided to capture this impression on canvas.

Despite the similarity of its title, this painting is not an illustration of Tolkien’s ‘The Hobbit’.

Sunrises and sunsets are always majestic and unique spectacles given to us by nature. They have always been glorified by poets, artists and musicians. The most vivid impressions of these natural phenomena are on the sea. In this picture I conveyed my impression of one of the sunsets that I saw on the shores of the Adriatic Sea.

You can read as much as you like about the Great Pyramids of Giza, look at their images or films about them. But you experience completely different sensations and impressions when you are near them and see them from a completely different angle than they are usually pictured. My impression from the pyramids I saw in real life I depicted on this picture.
