The coastal colors of the Kyiv Sea
I never cease to delight with nature: its variety of forms and richness of colours.
In this painting I captured my impression of my holiday on the shore of the Kiev Sea.
One of the favourite activities of artists is to depict the view of water from the shore. And I depicted the back side of this postcard. This time I was very impressed by the view from the water to the shore. While you are standing on the shore of the Kiev Sea, you see the water of yellow, brown, blue shades with golden and silver highlights. But if you go into the water, turn your back to the sun and look at the shore, the water, mixing with the reflection of the sky, shore, plants, gets completely different colours: sharp, contrasting, inconceivable transitions of bright yellow, dark blue, green colours with a touch of red and orange. And it becomes unclear whether you are standing in the water or on the shore, among grass, sand and clay. I painted my admiration for this riot of colours on canvas.
