I never cease to delight with nature: its variety of forms and richness of colours. In this painting I captured my impression of my holiday on the shore of the Kiev Sea. One of the favourite activities of artists is to depict the view of water from the shore. And I depicted the back side of this postcard. This time I was very impressed by the view from the water to the shore. While you are standing on the shore of the Kiev Sea, you see the water of yellow, brown, blue shades with golden and silver highlights. But if you go into the water, turn your back to the sun and look at the shore, the water, mixing with the reflection of the sky, shore, plants, gets completely different colours: sharp, contrasting, inconceivable transitions of bright yellow, dark blue, green colours with a touch of red and orange. And it becomes unclear whether you are standing in the water or on the shore, among grass, sand and clay. I painted my admiration for this riot of colours on canvas.

I really love this small seaside town. Quiet narrow streets, small cosy houses that were built during the Venetian Republic, calm, friendly people. And even the large port doesn’t bring any hustle and bustle. When I come to Koper, I can’t stop admiring the variety of colours, the beauty of the old architecture and the unique atmosphere of this city. I decided to share these feelings with you.

By chance I saw a picture of a very beautiful landscape in my social media feed. I don’t know what kind of terrain it is and where it is located. I liked this landscape so much and made such a vivid impression on me that I decided to capture this impression on canvas.

The most exquisite perfume will never equal to the scent of the last autumn flowers.
Each season has its own smells. Winter smells of frost and snow, spring smells of melted water, earth and young greenery, summer smells of heat and thunder. Autumn smells of fruit and fallen leaves. But for me, the smell of autumn is the smell of the last autumn flowers — chrysanthemums, the scent of which cannot be compared to the scent of the most exquisite perfume. I have conveyed my feelings of this fragrance in this painting.
