Ukraine. One last look at the peaceful sky
Illustration of events March 2020 — January 2022.
This theme is particularly close to me, as I live in Kiev. Many people fought the pandemic not with drugs, social distance and self-isolation, but with traditional folk remedies, as depicted in this picture. A mask, was carried at all times, at least in a pocket, and social distance was maintained when necessary, especially if someone sneezed nearby. After the 24th of February, all of this was left in a past life…
The work was started just hours before the rocket attacks on my Motherland. This is the moment in which I captured the view of the peaceful sky outside my window of my home in Kiev. The moment when Rocket is a food delivery service. A moment when in the peaceful sky the winter lazy sun shines through the threatening February clouds, when every house is a full cup, and on the evening table of many families are the main enemies of all viruses among the usual products of an ordinary Ukrainian.
Work on the collection was interrupted due to the war that started in Ukraine…. I plan to paint at least 5 more paintings for this collection. I really hope that I will be able to realise my plans.
