By chance I saw a picture of a very beautiful landscape in my social media feed. I don’t know what kind of terrain it is and where it is located. I liked this landscape so much and made such a vivid impression on me that I decided to capture this impression on canvas.

Despite the similarity of its title, this painting is not an illustration of Tolkien’s ‘The Hobbit’.

The most exquisite perfume will never equal to the scent of the last autumn flowers.

Each season has its own smells. Winter smells of frost and snow, spring smells of melted water, earth and young greenery, summer smells of heat and thunder. Autumn smells of fruit and fallen leaves. But for me, the smell of autumn is the smell of the last autumn flowers — chrysanthemums, the scent of which cannot be compared to the scent of the most exquisite perfume. I have conveyed my feelings of this fragrance in this painting.

At some point of the pandemic, a lot of people have begun to realize the world and themselves in it differently, their place in cosmic evolution, the great importance and significance of religious norms and ethics and their thoughts and behaviour. Most likely it was this factor that deprived the covid campaign of its evil destructive energy and prevented it from transforming the Earth into a unified ‘Brave New World’. I think that in order to direct the consciousness and thoughts of millions of people towards mercy and kindness, Japan has put a mask on the world’s largest statue of the Buddhist Goddess Kannon, the Goddess of Compassion and Mercy.
