By chance I saw a picture of a very beautiful landscape in my social media feed. I don’t know what kind of terrain it is and where it is located. I liked this landscape so much and made such a vivid impression on me that I decided to capture this impression on canvas.

Despite the similarity of its title, this painting is not an illustration of Tolkien’s ‘The Hobbit’.

Sunrises and sunsets are always majestic and unique spectacles given to us by nature. They have always been glorified by poets, artists and musicians. The most vivid impressions of these natural phenomena are on the sea. In this picture I conveyed my impression of one of the sunsets that I saw on the shores of the Adriatic Sea.

At some point of the pandemic, a lot of people have begun to realize the world and themselves in it differently, their place in cosmic evolution, the great importance and significance of religious norms and ethics and their thoughts and behaviour. I think that in order to direct the consciousness and thoughts of millions of people towards mercy and kindness, Japan has put a mask on the world’s largest statue of the Buddhist Goddess Kannon, the Goddess of Compassion and Mercy.

You can read as much as you like about the Great Pyramids of Giza, look at their images or films about them. But you experience completely different sensations and impressions when you are near them and see them from a completely different angle than they are usually pictured. The imposition of eras and architectural styles. Probably, there are few cities in the world where buildings built over three centuries are located on such a small area.

Historical center of Kiev. The Holy Vvedensky Monastery (Russian Orthodox Church) was founded at the end of the 19th century. It is famous for the miraculous icon of the Mother of God “Look at humility”. In August 1993, the face of the Virgin and Child miraculously imprinted on the glass that covered the icon. The monastery is located on Moskovskaya street, which arose in the early 18th century. In the 19th century this street was the main street in Kiev.
