From Japanese three verses (Haiku)

Light lines of watercolour strokes take us to a quiet garden where each magnolia branch reveals its unique beauty. The curves of the branches and rich shades of purple symbolise the whimsical play of fate and nature. The artist’s feeling, conveyed in every stroke, allows the viewer to feel the freshness and renewal inherent in the spring blooming season. The flower on the canvas, as if alive, conveys the unique melody of nature.

Violets. A symbol of true love, spring and chastity

The violet is a flower that brings nothing but good into the home. According to Feng Shui, it is practically the best houseplant; it smooths over conflicts, brings happiness and strengthens love. The violet is a multifaceted symbol, embodying modesty, chastity, tenderness and the reawakening of nature. It is associated with faithful love and spring, and, according to ancient legends, can also symbolise sorrow and remembrance of the dead. Furthermore, this flower is the emblem of Athens, a city strewn with violets.

Apples on fabric. The Airiness of Colour Harmony

This still life depicts four juicy apples arranged on a draped piece of fabric. The bright shades of red, orange and yellow on the fruit contrast with the deep purple and lilac tones of the fabric, which creates soft folds and shadows. The lightness of the watercolour technique lends the work an airy and lively quality, emphasising the interplay of light and colour. Every detail, from the delicate shimmers on the apples’ skins to the dynamic folds of the fabric, is rendered with attention to form and volume, creating a harmonious and expressive composition. This painting came about because I washed the apples and laid them out to dry on a kitchen towel. The folds of the fabric fell very picturesquely, and the combination of colours and shades turned out so harmonious that I quickly sketched it out and then put the watercolour on paper. The specificity of watercolours was able to convey the lightness of the composition and the airiness of the harmony of colours.

The Fire Rooster – a symbol of success and…

The painting depicts a majestic rooster standing in profile, with his head held high. His plumage shimmers with warm shades of brown, orange and gold, with vivid splashes of green and blue that lend the feathers a sense of movement. The comb and wattle are rendered in a rich red. The rooster’s tail stands out in deep blue tones, complemented by green and red brushstrokes. The bird rests on a stylised pedestal adorned with gold coins, which lends the composition a special meaning. The work is distinguished by its vibrant palette and attention to detail.

Still life in autumn style. Richness of the harvest

I present to you a vibrant autumn still life: at the centre of the composition is a lush bouquet of dark purple flowers in a brown vase; their stems and blooms harmoniously fill almost the entire space of the painting. In the foreground, on a red tablecloth, lie two ears of corn with clearly defined golden kernels and a large pumpkin with soft transitions of ochre shades. The bright blue background creates a striking contrast, emphasising the richness of the autumn colours and the richness f the harvest.
