I was just about to paint another summer still life, when suddenly this handsome (dandy) rooster appeared, which ended up in this picture. The rooster opened a hunt for corn, it’s a whole plot, a separate story.

The painting depicts a majestic rooster standing in profile, with his head held high. His plumage shimmers with warm shades of brown, orange and gold, with vivid splashes of green and blue that lend the feathers a sense of movement. The comb and wattle are rendered in a rich red. The rooster’s tail stands out in deep blue tones, complemented by green and red brushstrokes. The bird rests on a stylised pedestal adorned with gold coins, which lends the composition a special meaning. The work is distinguished by its vibrant palette and attention to detail. The rooster – a symbol of the Yang element – represents active masculine energy and is endowed with many virtues.
