It’s not ‘just a lot of water’ — it’s really a lot of water, a whole full-flowing river, wide and powerful, with clear blue water, framed by rocky banks with dense vegetation, then falling down a horseshoe-shaped precipice with a powerful waterfall, showing the majestic power of the water element. I was enraptured and so were my children. This trip will be remembered for a lifetime.

It’s a pity that it’s impossible to convey the smells in a painting. The smell of the forest, the smell of oaks cannot be compared to anything else. But I tried to convey the crystal clarity of the air with a light haze in the distance.

The only mountains that can be better than mountains you have never been to before.

Vladimir Vysotsky

These words from Vladimir Vysotsky’s song begin to be realised when you get to the mountains yourself. Fantastic colours, majestic breathtaking views… An inexhaustible source of inspiration for artists, poets, musicians, photographers. With every turn of the road or trail, a new view opens up, even more beautiful and majestic than the previous one. The mountains of Transylvania impressed me the most on the trip through Romania. I have captured my delight in this picture.

The coastal colors of the Kyiv Sea

I never cease to delight with nature: its variety of forms and richness of colours.
In this painting I captured my impression of my holiday on the shore of the Kiev Sea.
One of the favourite activities of artists is to depict the view of water from the shore. And I depicted the back side of this postcard. This time I was very impressed by the view from the water to the shore. While you are standing on the shore of the Kiev Sea, you see the water of yellow, brown, blue shades with golden and silver highlights. But if you go into the water, turn your back to the sun and look at the shore, the water, mixing with the reflection of the sky, shore, plants, gets completely different colours: sharp, contrasting, inconceivable transitions of bright yellow, dark blue, green colours with a touch of red and orange. And it becomes unclear whether you are standing in the water or on the shore, among grass, sand and clay. I painted my admiration for this riot of colours on canvas.
